Do I have to have an appointment or can I just walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome and will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students should be referred to the student health center to make appointments.

The Center for Health & Wellness is a resource for everyone at Coker! While counseling sessions are reserved exclusively for Coker students, the medical professionals and services offered in the Center’s health clinic are available to Coker employees and their families, as well as our student body.

Health and medical services are provided in partnership with Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, which accepts most insurance plans and offers a sliding scale payment option for those who are uninsured. Insured students should bring their insurance card with them when visiting the clinic.

For counseling services, students should bring a photo ID and insurance cards at the time of the appointment. MUSC will work with uninsured students so they can receive services.

Student records are kept strictly confidential in compliance with state and federal law, including FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

Student records cannot be released or disclosed without written consent of the patient/client except under the following conditions:

In the event of a health or safety emergency
Threat of harm to self or others
Suspected child abuse
Suspected abuse of elderly or disabled
Court order or subpoena

In the event of an on campus emergency, contact Campus Safety immediately at 843-383-8140. Our Campus Safety officers have a direct line to EMS, and can dispatch emergency assistance to your exact campus location.
